Default FLHRC Leather Tour Pak blocks saddlebag access

I just bought the matching leather TourPak for my Road King Classic and after installing realized that the TourPak blocks the saddlebags from fully opening. I have to hold the lid with one hand to get things out. Not amused. Anyone have any observations/suggestions ?

Do you have it mounted in the "solo" or "two up" position? Is it mounted in the correct position?

I had the same leather detachable tour pack on my '07 Road King Classic and had no problems fully opening the saddlebags.

Thanks Wooly.....
I have the two-up and yeah it's mounted correctly. Was in dealer today and service guy agreed that he couldn't believe Harley set it up that way but that was the reality and I had it installed correctly.....go figure....

Default Same problem as you have

Although it's not that big an issue for me. I use the tote bags for the saddle bags and can get them in and out without too much difficulty. Even my saddle interferes with the saddlebags but it's just something I learn to live with.

I had the leather Tour-Pak on my wish list...then I changed gears and swapped out the saddlebags. I'm keeping the leathers too, but if I get a TP I'll keep in mind this issue. It's always something.

You MIGHT not have the problem with the hard bags as they open slightly up and then outwards away from bike as you know. Wonder whether the hardbag lids clear a TourPak if used together. Anyone ?

I have the hardbags and a leather tourpak on the wifes Deluxe. Opening is not a problem. no interference at all, and the tourpak is mounted on a solo rack.
