If you want a room at a fair price and and great service, Holiday Motel in Maggie Valley is the best place. It is not a Marroitt or Hilton Hotel but comfortable and the service is the best in Maggie Valley. I would guess that atleast 50-60% of their business is repeat customers.
Rob and Gabi Edwards are the owners and will go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible.

As mentioned, Wheels Through Time is awesome, the Cherohala is a great ride, Routes 215, 276, 209, and of course the BRP are all great rides.

Fat Buddies BBQ in Waynesville is some good BBQ, Joeys Pancake House in MV, The Mountaineer Restaurant in MV has good breakfast and great views.

+3 on the Holiday Motel. I've stayed there two years in a row and they've treated me well. Prices are very reasonable. Try the 'Irish Potatoes' at the Sportsman bar just up the street. They're a treat in themselves.

+1 on Maggie Valley.. We rode out in the morning rode the Dragon then headed to the Maryville HD got some good food and great music.. then rode the Cherohala Skyway back then finish the night with a some great food at Legends Sports Grill.

Beware where you stay, after the sun sets most places go completely Dead.
