Default 2010 Road king for a 2009 Street glide

I currently have a 2010 Police Road king with under 6k miles. I have changed the seat, and made it 2 up. It has the 103 engine but does not have ABS. I have a buddy that has just decided to sell his 2009 Street glide which has 20k on it. It is in very good shape, and it has ABS. KBB puts it's value a couple grand more than my Road king, but the milage knocks it down a bit I would imagine.

I think I could get it for, well maybe $1000 or so more than my bike. What do you all think, is it worth it go go a year older and add a bunch of miles to upgrade to a fairing?

Thanks for any thoughts!

From a FLHX owner/rider...stick w/the RK police cruiser & look at adding your own fairing (many options). Don't get me wrong (love my SG), but police bike's got a leg up on your friend's FLHX...

I am in the same situation as you, I am thinking about doing the same thing. I have an 11 which I just put reinhart slip-ons, solo seat among other things. I was thinking about a street glide myself. I guess I'm not the only one that's never satisfied. I would love to have the fairing and the radio myself. The way I look at it if you keep yours or get the glide it's going to cost you slot of money....it always does. If it's only a grand I would do it myself....

I think your impetus for this is more the abs than the fairing.

and the worse time to consider this is when skidding into trouble.

so work out a deal for the abs bike.

cop bikes are still pretty popular although they are more 'stock" than they were in the olden days ( evos).

Had an '11 Streetglide for 9 months until my unfortunate encounter with a deer. Replaced it with an '11 road King Classic. FWIW, I'm much happier unfaired!
