ThunderMax Auto-Tune...closed loop!
This Zippers combo could be the ticket for those with sensored exhaust...plug & play closed loop/wide band, automatic tuning system...around $800...ThunderMax ECM & Auto Tune module. Find out more at www.thunder-max.com

Thats next when I get a nice 2 into 1 clamp less exhaust with bungs factory installed.
A real good thread of a unit like this one was going a couple month ago, but from a different MFG.

That's the cats A$$. I think more is comming like this, thats why I am going to wait a while before I buy one. It looks like you do not have to but the ECM. It is made to work with your Harley ECM an some newer models. If that's so, it couls cut the price in half.

Why not just go to a tuner and have it done for 1/4 the price?
And you'll know it's perfect for your bike.

My question on this is: If it plugs in to the factory ECM, how can it change the system from a narrow band to a wide band system? Seems like it would have to by-pass the factory ECM completely to do that. Anyone?

The only "problem" with our current options is a new dyno tune is required for almost every performance upgrade we do. In theory this eliminates the need for additional tuning when future mods are made. The system would compensate for these changes. Again... in theory. Zippers makes some serious performance stuff, so I don't doubt its capabilities, I would just like to know more. Probably have to call Zippers for the full scoop.

It doesn't plug into the factory ECM. The Thundermax ECM replaces the factory ECM. The stock narrow band sensors are replaced by the wide band sensors.
My question is how well does an Alpha-N type ECM compensate for altitude changes. As I understand it, with Alpha-N type systems such as Thundermax or the DTT TCFI estimate ambient air pressure based on temperature. It doesn't seem like that computation would hold as altitude changes. I could be wrong here though.

Thanks Redhead. I just re-read the info and found my mistake. I thought I read it plugs in to the ECM, when what it really read was plugs in to the factory wiring harness.
Your question on altitude compensation is a good one. Sure would be nice to have a system that did all that.
