Default Ultra Handlebar Change out

Several Questions:

1. How many hours did it take to change out your Ultra Handlebars?

2. HD Reach or Wild 1's Which did you change to.

3. For those who have taken on this job, did you have to change out brake, clutch, throttle cables etc?

Thanks in advance for your help and input.

I changed mine out with Wild 1s. What a pain in the butt! Went ahead and changed the cables to stainless also. As far as cable length. The brake cable would have worked but tight. The clutch and cable would have been too tight. The biggest pain was manuvering the inner fairing and radio to get to the nuts. If I had to do it again, I'd pay someone.

GOOD LUCK

Don't know about the installation but my EG Classic has the HD reach & I love them. Sooo much more comfortable than the stock bars

My master cylinder has a steel line coming from it and diappearing it the fairing. Does this line transition into a hose somewhere or does it go straight to the to "Y"???

I'm considering the same change, Wild Ones, both shops I checked wanted about $600 to do the swap. With all the wiring to be done, it's more than I want to tackle. I'll be watching this thread to see what everyone else thinks.

there is a very good job break down here somewhere on the forum... either do a search or maybe someone has it bookmarked.... I did my change and all it takes is time... my labor is much cheaper than the HD shop.. Wild1's 575 worked great

Here's a link to a write-up I posted a few months ago about installing the Chubby's WO575 bars on my Street Glide. It's a long job, but doable if you are careful and take your time. The results are well worth it though.

I'm inspired by the photos. I was going to pay the shop to do the change-out. Now I think I'll do it myself. If worse comes to worse, I do have a trailer to take it to the shop. But I don't think that will happen. Thanks for the photo layout.

I did HD bars on my 05 and what a pain. Also went stainless cables and faring mirrors, was worth every swear word!
