Default Ok forum experts, please chime in!

I have a 2001 FLHTCUI and I'm looking to purchase a chrome twisted 80 spoke rear wheel (16" x 3.5"). I have a guy that will give me a great deal on one, but it is coming off of a 2008 SG. Mine has a 3/4" axle and the one off of the 08 has a 1" axle. Seller says I can just change the bearings to accommodate the 1" so that I can use it, my indy says I can't.

Does anyone know for sure. I asked this question differently at one time, but I'm still un clear. Can someone clarrify????

Sold a ft 40 spoke from a 99 springer to a buddy who had an 03 and he had bearings changed a dealer to fit his model. Not sure about the axel size.

I've been riding and building bikes for a long time. Things may have changed recently with twisted spokes, but in the old days they were notorious for breaking. That's a pretty heavy bike and the rear wheel isn't very visable. I hope the twisted spokes work for you, its your bike and your decision. I hope there's a good warranty with those wheels, I just have seen too many fail.

Thanks for your imput, but these are 80 spoke and I'm not concerned like I would be if they were 40 or 60 spoke, but I will look a bit further into it. Thanks brotha!
