Will dealers deal?
Some of you have seen my post that I'm looking at buying my first Harley. I am looking at a 2007 Roadking Classic. Two toned Red/Black Pearl. Dealer is asking $19250. I'm wanting to add a sissy bar and rear carrier option and screaming eagle slip-ons which will put the cost up over $20000. He says this is MSRP and they won't come down. Says Harley just doesn't do that. Just wanted your input. If this is what it is going to cost me then so be it. But wondered if they ever come down from MSRP?

Dealer list on that bike is $17,695, got that from HD.com, that is without any extras such as Two-Tone paint etc. 19K plus, as you stated, sounds high for msrp, even with Two-Tone. It must have extras like wheels, alarm, or something. I would look around, something fishy...

My dealers here in the Louisville, Ky. area will not come off the MSRP however the offer other things like $1,500 worth of accessories, add on's, or in store credit.
However just up the road, about 70 miles north in Columbus, In. you can deal with those guys alot more.
The bikes are cheaper, from the start and it's alot bigger dealership so they need to move the bikes and are even nicer to deal with.
If it were me, I would look for a good late model that someone else need to get rid of. There are alot of people out there the bought bikes and now don't ride as much as they thought they would and you can take advantage of that. For example, I found an 02 Road King Classic last week for a buddy that was loaded, even with Harley chrome 5 star wheels and every other harley chrome engine parts, and 10,800 miles for $11,600.

You should feel bad that that's ALL you can give that dealer!
Ok, made my funny for the morning! My first question, is that an OTD price, or MSRP? Depending on the tax rate, that isn't too bad, but for MSRP that's a tad bit high. Check another dealer and see if you can a) find that model in stock and b) get it for a better price.
Given your location and the time of year, sales are probably slower there right now, so I'd search around to see if you can find a better price. I'm sure there's a dealer who is low on sales and is desperate to unload a bike or two!

According the list
Base Price is $17,695...if going to 2 tone, you are now at $18,255 plus $335 for freight which is $18,590. Now add the $100 CA emission and you are at $18,690. Now if it has security added that's another $325 for a total of $19,015
They may add the first service with the price.....but remember if someone sells it cheaper, they may have a reason why

My local dealer has two Road King Classics that are both two tone (Two-tone White Gold Pearl / Deep Cobalt Pearl and Two-tone Suede Blue Pearl / Vivid Black) and they have an OTD price of $20,274. Now this dealer says they do MSRP but I'm 99% sure that they have a dealer set up/prep fee that they tack on there, so that's about another 700-1000.

RE: Will dealers deal?
I just bought an 07 Ultra which comes in Jan. I went to 3 different dealers and none would budge off the MSRP. The dealer I did buy from gave me $2500 more for my trade than the other two would. The price includes first service and they will install any parts I buy at MSRP for free. Watch out for the dealers add on costs as well. All charge dealer prep and frieght but the dealer I bought from didn't charge a dealer admin fee. The other dealers were around $175 for that.
Good luck....
