Just finished putting on the 56569-09 (Heritage classic bars 09-11)
Thanks for the write up, it made a tough job real easy.
The only thing that was a PITA was cutting the notches in the bar for the tbw. I cut the notches a little too big so I have a 1/16" travel when I twist the throttle. I dont think its a big deal though.
The bars are a huge improvement.

edited these quotes from other posts:

the 56569-09 "Heritage Style" bars. do NOT fit TBW / FBW bikes unless you cut a piece off the end and notch the end

part # 56902-08 does fit TBW bikes, and your stealer should have a set in stock, and his book will list them as "police bike bars" or something that shows they fit a TBW road king.
old thread, but still good part numbers, thought I would post 2014 prices:

56569-09 $79 + tax

56902-08 $99 + tax

at $99, it almost seems worthwhile to buy something "not stock" and get something better.

I just ordered my 56902-08 bars for my 2012 RK. I'm not sure why I waited 20K miles to finally do it. Nobody had them in stock close by. Will use your write up here to work through it. Thanks for taking the time to post all the pics and write up - probably took you longer to post up all this than the actual install :-)

and then one tiny screw on top which was under the spear. Here, I'm holding the small locknut and washer which are underneath. It's tight, but you can move the wires and get 2 fingers on them while you unscrew the screw:

You don't have to remove this screw just loosen it and slide it out the back of the nacelle.

I thought the same thing when I did mine, but that's not always true. For my 07 (and I assume your 09) the nacelle is slotted for that screw so you can slide it out. But if you look closely at the original poster's pics, it looks like the newer models aren't notched which means removing the screw completely.
Just trying to help clarify.

I meant this picture, you can see behind his finger that the clamp cover has a hole with no slot for the bolt. Which is why he removed it all the way.
I used this exact post when I removed mine and had almost removed the entire bolt/nut when I noticed that I could push up and slide the bolt out on mine.
