Bad gas story!
#11
People have been using this stuff for 20+ years (me included), and most of them haven't had any issues at all.
Do some people have problems? Sure, same as with anything else.
There are many more issues to contend with that are more important.
For every story you hear about Ethanol damage, there are thousands of users that didn't experience an issue.

I trust gas stations for the most part. Didn't see why my car filter can go 100,000 plus miles but my bike's can't.
So I just replaced my fuel filter on the RG for the first time last month, (12 years old and 93,000 miles.)
The inside of the tank surprised me as to how clean it was, and the filter when opened turns out would have gone indefinitely.
But one load of bad gas like I got 20 plus years ago shut down my car within 2 miles and the folks at the Clark Oil station in Cleveland got to remove the tank and flush the system at their cost.
Sometimes it happens, fortunately not often.

Ethanol causes pinging and gets less economy but that should be it on a modern bike. It is less stable over time so if you fill up every two weeks no issue.
No, it won't

...nonsense!..it's not the 10% Ethanol that's causing the "problems"..it's people not understanding how to store gas over winters, and how to put Stabil in and run the float bowl dry, with the gas line shut-off before storing..etc...give me a break..here in Mass you can't buy gas without the 10% in it...so EVERYONE is riding around with the same gas...and they don't have problems...alcohol in gas acts like a magnet for water...if it sits for 3 months, it probably has water molecules in it, and then the problems start...simple preventive measures is all that's needed...the gas itself is not "damaging" engines..

Yup, exacto.
