Lightbulb Service BULLETIN - Road Glides '09 to'12-Fall Away!

Apparently this Bulletin is for dealerships only - not us riders!!

Anyone who has a problem with the decel wobble should know this! Our bike was brand new & @ 400 klms the shake (was dangerous - even the mechanics agreed!) Lonnnggg story short, one of the replies to my post attached this link - & guess what - the dealership/mechanics never read this Bulletin about 'FALL AWAY' adjustments! Yes they adusted the Fall away - just not to the correct specs for ROAD GLIDES (of course we didn't know & assumed that they did it right & never questioned the fall away again, even though many replies to the post suggested it could be a fall away problem - (because dealership adjusted it - we figured it was done! ) Anyway - hope I did this link correctly still new @ some of this PC stuff

If this doesn't work - look up a post by - shooter5074 - it contains the link & it works fine.

Not just Glides but all touring models. Thanks for the PDF I am printing it and putting it in my service manual. Wish the MOCO would send this info to all 2009 owners...

The link works..... and a good dealer would pay attention to this part....

Required Dealer Action
Inform service staff of this revised procedure and follow this
method when servicing these motorcycles.

In my case, my dealer does the fall away on EVERY bike they sell, new or used. And they had this service addendum in their service manuals.

Default Service bulletin

If you have a 2010 service manual the bulletin M1246 is in that. It is for the RoadGlides only from 09-11 or 12. Funny thing is you have to tighten the swing tighter than the new service manual specs to stop the damn wobble in the steering if you want to let go of the bars. Best thing is to just hang on to the bars and ride the thing or buy some tools and crank the friggin steering head down so you can handle yourself or wave with both hands to everyone while your riding around. Haven't heard of any crashes from it but there sure is a lot of crying over it.

2011 touring service manual has those same specs. I adjusted mine to slightly under 1 full swing and no decel wobble.
