Carb vs Fuel Injection

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection
I've had both, a carbeurated '01 Dyna Wideglide and my now bike - an '03 EFI EG Classic. The Wideglide was stock except for drag pipes and a Thunderslide kit in the carb. Bitch ran like a dream and a scalded ape and would sit there and count 'em off to you. When the EG was stock, it was sluggish and sounded like crap. Put on a Fullsac true duals and Pythons system, an HD Stage 1 air filter kit, and a PCIII programmer. Now it runs like the Dyna did but I just can't get that Harley lope the Dyna had. Sure do miss my lope.

RE: Carb vs Fuel Injection
The way I see it we all have our own opinions, nothing wrong with that. For me while I still get a real thrill out of building my bikes from scratch, and seeing the end result, the carb is the only way to go for me.Personally,I enjoy the option of so many choices and tweaking options you have with a carb.It is still way to expensive to install fuel injection, and have the tools and equipment to service it.As far as power, for what little you might gain with FI it sure is not worth the extra coin. So,you boys that like your FI enjoy it,you should.I sure enjoy my carbs.Up here in the North, tweaking carbs on the cold mornings is part of the fun. When those Twins are roaring down the road who really cares what's feeding the fire.Dog
