Default Leather differences - C&C Seats - Am I wrong?

I recently ordered a smooth leather solo seat and a passenger pillion..

I didn't want the pillion to be on all the time, and I was so impressed with the seat work at C&C I called back and ordered a fender bib to cover the fender when the pillion was not on there.

Today I received the fender bib, and I understand there is a difference in hides when dealing with real leather, but smooth leather should not be this different should it? I am pretty sure they accidentally made it out of their "Mercedes" style hide, instead of the smooth leather hide

Can you guys give me your thoughts?

Looks to me like they made a simple mistake..The piece on the right looks like what we call pebble grain..

Clearly two different leathers. The one on the left looks like a smooth full grain and the right is a tumbled and printed loose POS IMO. I would expect C&C will make good.

I have no doubt that a simple call will rectify the mistake.
