Now I have to find a way to sneak this past the wife well I guess I could install all the stuff myself and save 4 bills, anyway thanks for the help guys!

Well crap... I thought I had my mind made up but now I'm not so sure, but for now I think I'm just going to install the stuff myself and take it down to my buddy and have him flash it for me afterhours (it's cheaper that way) and go from there. I'm not after alot more hp mainly cooler temps and sound, and this will most likely be the most performance mods that I will do. As for dynos, well here in central il we r very limited, there was a guy who came though Springfield with one when the mile was going on but other than that there are only a few hd shops that have them and like someone said before how well can you trust them! Now after I put all this stuff on (dresser duals, se intake and rc pipes) will it hurt the bike to ride it 10 miles down to the shop?

Flash - a normal Air Cleaner and slip ons is not pushing the performance envelope so there are plenty of "canned" flashes out there for this set up, which is to say that the dealer will just pick a combo they know will keep your bike in a safe zone for lean/rich air fuel mixture - this FLASH of the ecm takes your stock ECM and puts a richer fuel mix in to it and keeps you safe

Dyno - IF (and this is a big one) if your dealer knows what they are doing, then once your mods are on, they take the time to MAKE a specific program for your bike with those mods based on your set up. Meaning every engine goes together slightly differently and yours may be a little richer or leaner and adding a more free flowing exhaust and more air via a air cleaner with more volume flow can adversely affect it (highly unlikely it would because the stock ecm has some variance in it if you are too lean), but this is custom

IMO - if the mods you have listed are all you are going to do, just buy the XiEDs from knightrider and call it a day for $125 delivered

if you think there are more mods in your future and have the $$$ get a programmer and pick one of the "canned" maps from their list and use it for now, when you are done modding (i.e. you may decide for true duals, you may get cams, etc) then spend the money to get your bike dyno tuned by the experts in this field.

I would NEVER let the dealer dyno tune my bike, spend slightly more and take it to someone that specializes in this (which MOST of the dealers do not do) most dealers fix bikes, most install parts

it really depends on what you want out of the bike, if you can afford it, go all out, and your bike will repay you with miles of smiles, if you want to keep it a little cheaper for now, do your two mods and just buy the XiEDs to keep it a little richer than stock and enjoy your new sound, and slightly better
acceleration
I have some XIEDS FOR SALE. $75 shipped. I went all out with a tuner and no longer needs these. They are plug and play at the stock harness connections. Cool the motor. PM if interested.

Nope, but it will run well with no worries about a poor tune from an incompetent wrench. I got mine for less than $650 delivered (send a PM and I'll let you know where if your interested)

This will allow you flexibility if you ever want to do other mods. I bought mine knowing I Was doing the cams. I wanted plug and play and no BS which is exactly what I got.
You'll need to change to an 09 headpipe because the o2 sensors in the RP kit are 18 mm and your stock ones are 12 mm. Just so you'll know...

neither. put on the new exhaust first. ride it a few miles. put on the air intake. ride it a few miles. you are done. there is not much in the various stage I maps unless you plan to rev your engine up to over 5500 RPMS. ECM can handle light modifications.

Didn't know that. Makes that option a little more loot now. Oh well its a good time to do a 2 into 1 header then

All your doing is pipes and intake? Engine mods? If no engine mods I would just get a power commander to manage fuel. If your going to do engine mods later, do the race tuner

There is no way that the AFV have enough range to do that.

Do what you want and spend however much you have, BUT my V&H Fuelpak woke my RKC wide *** awake! If you're not going to make further engine mods, it's money well spent! I couldn't be happier AND I didn't have to spend a fortune on dyno tunes. V&H Fuelpak techs will work with you happily to get your bike running great... Very pleased here.

This is absolutely not true. The Adaptive Fuel Values will not adjust the VEs near enough for that, and they won't touch timing at all.
