Default Spark plug wet....gas smell? WTF???

Decided to check out condition of spark plugs and they looked great - I put them back in and tried starting the bike and it started but ran at extremely low idle for 20 second and then quit. I pulled the plug on the rear cylinder and it was wet. smelled like gas. Never had this happen.

What happened and what now???

Update: I adjusted the idle screws to get it running at a good idle - but, it seems that even at a cold idle of 1100 it is running differently....not a smooth idle - the exhaust at the back end sounds fairly normal but the engine seems to be going chug-chug-chug-chug and maybe the engine is bouncing a bit more?

LAST UPDATE: must have broke a spark plug wire - I changed the wires and the newly fouled plugs and it fired right up. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Well, by looking up into the wire I can't tell anything and I really don't know how to do much more than that to test it. Thanks - maybe a trip to the dealer.

Did you break your plug wire when taking off or putting on? If it was running good before you fooled with it, then its something you touched.

Not trying to be funny but are you sure you put the wire all the way on? You could do a plug check off the side of the cyclinder to see if it has spark.

Yes I did check a couple times that I pushed the wires on tight. So, to do that spark test, do I just pull the plug, attach it to the wire and then hold it against the side of the cylinder and then start the bike? Thanks for your help.
