Wife on the mend and in good spirits

Had a close call 2up this summer as well near Sturgis with a deer...lucky we were doing 40ish and not faster! Feet were up on highway pegs so hit front brake..thank goodness no debris on road as it was a slight curve...wife held on....bike stayed up...deer made it across, shorts were still clean...but barely! All the best to your wife!
How fast were you going....for those of us that don't and can't afford ABS any tips for the been there gang is appreciated.....for me, we were just lucky and lucky wife gripped on and did not lean and counter bike..hung on tight..that saved us from a dump.....back brake may have skidded us but boy that front brake only is a pucker factor!

Many prayers for your wife, and you. I unfortunatley can relate to what it feels like to know your soul mate was hurt worse than you from going down in March, it's the worst feeling I've ever had in my life. Glad she is wanting to get back on. Mine did too. It took a few rides and she still gets tense in some situations, you just have to let her work through it. We started by just taking 10-15 min rides arounf aour neighborhood until she was ready to go play dodge the cagers. My wife tells me it helps when I assure her we're ok by talking to her when we have to go through gravel, or if a cager is doing something stupid and I tell her I see it and what I'm going to do to avoid it, etc.
Definitely not as important, but just curios, how's the bike?
