Line level output strength varies on different devices.

 

My apple ipod has very low volume when played through the aux but if you manually turn the volume up on the ipod it will take care of the problem. My other mp3 by sony does not require this. The sony will stay at what volume it had when you shut it off. Unfortunately the ipod requires this manual volume up each and everytime you turn your stereo on.
