Default Help! There was this review on a Road Glide

There was this review of a Road Glide, about a year ago. The guy that wrote it, was a reviewer and a rider or Ducatti, BMW etc bike. It was a great write up from a guy that was admittedly biased away from Harleys. He said he thought it would be fun to try one, but it probably wasn't going to compare to the sport bikes he was used to.
He couldn't say enough good about the RG. Sure wish I could find that article again.

Absolutely, but I'd really like a newer one.

If you had a pre 09. You would definitely love a new.

I went from an '06 road glide to the limited.
I like the new suspension and wider rear tire. Also the 6 speed is great at higher speeds.
I think MOCO could have added better shocks.
To be honest,I think it handles as good or better.

I would think a newer road glide would be better.

Love the 09 RG I'm on now but I still miss my 2000 RG. It was like an old friend,we had a lot of good rides together.

Don't be in a hurry to trade your '06. I have an '05 RG 95" SE 6 speed, True Track, yada yada and an '09 EGC. If I have to dump a bike it'll be the '09. The new chassis is great but the ride suffers. The Brembos give the impression of being better but really, they only require less effort to apply. In return you get warped rotors, the RG with 72K stops as smooth as the day it rolled out of the showroom, the EGC had the rear rotor replaced at 9K and the fronts are pulsating, HD said they are "within spec" so I'll have to replace them at the 15K service.
I know I'll get beat up on this but, the ABS sucks, it's overactive and activates when stopping on dry pavement in a straight line if the front tire rolls over a few bumps. I have ended up with the front tire in an intersection because the ABS activated. There is no way the wheel was locking up.
So, yes, the new bikes are nice but, so is your RG the way you have it set up. Think real hard before you trade. I have been lucky enough to keep my '05 because a yellow RG with 72,000 miles on it is worth a hell of a lot more to me than a Harley dealer will give me for a trade.
