Default sticky grips

My heated grips are starting to get tacky (2010). Anyone else experienced this problem?

My heated grips got very sticky to the point i was ready to take them off the bike.I went to a wire supply co.and bought some heat shrink tubing the proper of the proper size slid it over the sticky grips and heated it up with a heat gun trimmed of excess. That was 4 year ago and it is still working ok.

I don't know about the heated grips but the stock rubber grips will get sticky as they break down from the sweat and oil in your hands.

I love the stock grips, but have never been able to use them without gloves.

That's using your noggin'. Mine are 25 y.o. grips just plain breaking down from age, I'll have to try that, Thanks for tip! Mine are not heated.

I've used these covers on different grips and they work very well, foam or thin rubber ones.
