Default Progressive Front lowered SG Opinion

Don't know how many of you guys have lowered your Street Glides, but I had mine done with Progresive Drop ins. It was supposed to be lowered 1 inch. To me it feels like it went down way more than that. You can see from the picture comparison a significant difference.

If you look in the pictures you can see how far down the bottom of the upper is on the fender. Does anybody else think this is lower than 1 inch? I absolutley had to go with a 1 inch shorter Arlen Ness kickstand. It still sits up pretty straight in my opinion. Not sure if the installer missed the spacers (if there were any) or if this is the way everybody elses is??

I put that kit in my ultra, the amount of drop depends on what you cut the pvc spacer to. You should ask the installer what length the spacer is, then you can look on the chart from progressive and find how much it was dropped. For the kick stand I went with a wedge and substituted the bolts in the kit for bolts I knew were grade 8. Hope I helped.

Mouse in my cup:

Does your bike lean on the kickstand much? That is my biggest problem. The 1 inch drop made it stand up enough that a good wind would have blown it over. Now with a shortened stand it is barely good enough. If I turn the wheel to the right of center at all, the kickstand will push the bike over (had to catch it twicw now while working on it). I do drag the kicstand occasionally also when I turn hard to the left.

The mechanic said he was almost sure he put the spacer in it. Does you bike look similar in fender clearance to mine?

Yup lean is good, sounds like better than yours. Only way it will fall is if the stand breaks. I will take a pic tomorrow.

Thanks for the responses. Nobody else including the technician form Progressive that I talked to have had this much trouble with kickstand length. I think I am going to attempt to pull the tube caps and check the spacer length, if there is one in the bike at all.

Sorry this took so long, I have been crazy busy. The wedge I used was p/n 48-2763. This is with the Progressive drop in fork kit and 1 inch shorter progressive 440 shocks.

These are what came with mine. I think the chart is for a 1" drop, but you will have to call to verify. I didn't see instructions for the newer bike on the site, they may be the same instructions.
