Size of trailer needed to transport bikes

Go with dove tail so the lift gate doesn't have to be so tight. If you stagger them you don't have to go as wide, plus gives a little room for error. 2 foot stagger is plenty and won't affect balance of trailer. Look at all welds and beams for floor. Steal mesh is lighter than wood but will eventually have to be painted, no biggy

I bought two fold up kit trailers for 300 each. Made a tandem axle with lift gat out of it. You need at least an 8ft bed. if you go with the ultility trailer route, make sure the tires are at least 4 ply if you plan to do 65+ mph. 2ply are only good for 55 mph. I had a blow out and had one tire disintegrate . didnt know it was 2 ply. but having tandem axles saved the day since I still had 3 tires up.

Thanks for the info. We will be using my Tundra pick-up to haul the bikes. Again, mostly will be hauling to Great Falls, MT for servicing. Without the trailer, it's hard to get both bikes there for service when only one of us is available to travel for the day.
We've borrowed trailers, but all the borrowed ones are two narrow to get two on and on occasions the lights don't work, or something else is wrong. Time to sacrifice a little chrome money for a necessity.
