I was at the dealer today to stop in and look at the 2012s and there was a guy asking a salesmen about what oil to put in the bikes can he use different grades other than MCY specific salesmen comes out with you'll void your warranty and to only use Harley oils so I laughed so guy asks if I know about oils said no not me so I told him to do a search online about oil for MCYs in front of the salesman said there are many options ,was I wrong to butt in Hmmmm

Well I might have handled it a little different. If I heard the salesman say that using anything short of Harley Davidson oils would void the warranty I would wait for a pause and then excuse myself for butting in. I would ask the salesman if he or his sales manager would show me where in the user manual that it says using anything but Harley oils would void the warranty. I would then wait for an answer knowing full well what the answer would be. I would not mind if my question drew a crowd or not. I would hold the bastards feet to the fire until we got an honest answer. I would not even hesitate to mention Magnusson-Moss if that is what it took. Those damn dealers have got to stop all this crap. The only way they will stop is if people start to call them on it.

I'd have asked the "salesman" to come out and check my oil and tell me if it was HD or not - How would he know what the F*%k type of oiul was in there? He gonna taste it!? But if an Adult is dumb enough to ask that question, I'm sure he's dumb enough to believe it. Love that HD brand of Cu$tomer $ervice!

FACT ABOUT HD Oil Products
Article written by A.J. Amatuzio, President and CEO of AMSOIL INC.

Lyn loves to ride motorcycles. She recently purchased a Harley Davidson bike and took it to the local Harley shop to have our new AMSOIL Motorcycle Oil installed. The mechanic took issue with her not using the oil Harley Davidson sells, saying, "I'll use AMSOIL motor oil when AMSOIL starts making motorcycles!"

How would you answer a challenge like that? I was pleased to hear Lyn's response. She said, " I'll start using Harley Davidson motor oil when Harley starts making oil!"
Harley-Davidson petroleum motor oil is manufactured by Sunoco.

just wish the dealers would stop trying to pull this on a customer they should just start selling multiple brand oils they would still make a profit
