200 miles from home and she blew!
Near the KY/TN state line going up an incline, my '06 new-to-me Street Glide with only 5000 miles on it decided to let go and bleed all over itself and me. Large cloud of smoke behind me and loss of oil pressure. Got her on the other side of the hill(think run-off ramp for truckers that can't stop) and took a look. Appeared to be a blown head but couldn't really tell since there was oil EVERYWHERE. Luckily my brother was with me and he ran to the next exit and found a uhaul place. Strapped her in and drove the remaining 200 miles home.
Took it to the Harley dealership(I have had this bike less than 90 days now and this is the THIRD time it has been in for repairs) and they agreed to look at it and see what they could do for me. So far they think that it was a pushrod that let go. UHaul cost $240 + $90 fuel....ugh. I guess it could have been worse!

Hate to hear it, you would think a bike with only 5K miles should have a long way to go, but you never know how the last person took care of it, or why they got rid of it, with only 5K it's obvious the last owner didn't ride much, I hope you have some kind of warranty, if not, this would be an excellent time for some engine upgrades.

So sorry to hear you're having problems like this. Let us know what they say. Is the 90 day comment to indicate it had a 90 warranty from where you bought it? I hope so!
And yes ref the comments of the seals going bad from sitting too much i'd agree. 5k since '06 is a joke. I've put almost 10k on my bike in the last 10 weeks.

Yep I bought it with 2800 miles on it and have since put 2400 on it. Supposedly the previous owner had many bikes and this one was never riden. I tend to agree about the gaskets and seals...
It only had a 30 day warranty but I was so pissed I felt I bought a lemon for a bike...it had already been in for injector replacement and then the fork lock got stuck. I hope it's somewhat minor problems and I will let you all know how the dealer handles it. Even though it is out of warranty, I think with the problems I have had within the first oil change, they should do the right thing and help me out.
