I've had the premium rack on a couple of baggers and they've served me well. By the time you've get the Air WIng and the light kit ( and the pain in the a$$ of wiring it up ) you've spent almost twice as much money ( enough saved for a nice ride and a great burger and beer ) ...... just my .02 cents worth!

It all depends...

I have had EGCs that come with no brake lights on the tour-pak. In the past, I have installed the Premium Rack AND the tour pak spoiler kit because the Air Wing luggage rack was not available. I'll go with the Air Wing luggage rack on my next EGC to have more brake lights and I like the integrated look.

If I had a bike with the Ultra lighting on the back, I would go with just the Premium Rack.

Yes,I think that the Air Wing luggage rack & brake light are worth the extra money......if you have it.There is no comparison between the two when side by side IMHO.

I installed the air wing with the brake light and believe it was money well spent.

my last bike had the premium- my current bike has the airwing, with lights. ( bought by previous owner)

Wife driving behind me at night says visibility has never been so good.

I tent camp, I think the premium holds a large load more securely

and if you have the H-D "SAC" bag, the straps don't line up well. I had to cut a slit in the center front strap and get each remaining piece on either side of the center bar of the airwing--- I beefed up the velcro too.

if I were shopping today- premium rack.

Since my UC has Tourpac lights, and the Premium is larger and cheaper....

I put the air wing on my UC but probably would go premium next time on an ultra or limited as they already have decent rear lighting. Yes, there is some additional light but not as much as I expected when I installed it. But I agree it looks better and the premium may hold a little more but I have not had any problem securing bags, etc. to the air wing.

The lights were a slight pain but not terrible to install.

Get the larger premium rack and put some reflective tape on your rack bag ?
