Default Mustang solo... higher ride?

I just picked up a 2 piece Mustang seat for my 02 Ultra. It moved me back about 1.5-2" and that is nice. It also seems to have moved me UP about and inch. Didn't expect that. Common? Minor issue overall and better than the worn out stock seat. Kind of like riding the work bike now but without the air assist.

Normal. My Corbin sat me slightly lower and further back than stock, the mustang was slightly forward and higher from stock, and my police seat is about 6" taller compared to both of them!

same here. When I went from stock to mustang my legs felt a bit shorter. Mustang has a wider seat pan in the mid under side of the thighs area. doesn't let your hips bend as much. Its still a nice seat for time in the saddle, but does have some affect when your doing a lot of stopping and starting.

I have the Vintage Solo, and while it actually seemed to move up forward about an inch from the stock Street Glide seat, the height seems about the same.

Do the Ultra seats sit lower than the stock SG seat?
I know that Mustang describes the Vintage as "about an inch back from stock Touring seats", but I assume they meant the stock EG seats, which are more forward than the SG.

Not really sure. My impressions could be from the fact that my seat has over 50,000 iles and is all broken down. Not a complaint about the Mustang seat, more an observation.

My understanding is that its common for the mustang seats to sit a bit higher, as they have much more foam than a factory HD seat.

Mine moved me back 1" and up 1" but that was on an XL883N

Best seat for me after much searching and buying the wrong seat once. My MUstang Solo was a tad higher initially but squished just the right amount and after 15K miles, the seat fits fine, feels great and is in great condition.

Love it!

My Mustang solo seat moved me back about 1 inch, but the height is almost identical, maybe 1/2 inch lower, but there is no comparison when it comes to comfort, I love the Mustang.

The Mustang Vintage Solo seat on my '04 RK moved me up and forward about an inch, which is what I was looking for. With the backrest, it's an all day seat.

So far I am really happy with the seat. I haven't had the chance to take any decent rides, just back or forth to work. I am waiting for the mounting bolts to be able to try mounting the passenger pillion to see how that feels. Got a great deal on a basically new seat (less then a week of use) just didn't come with the bolts. Should be just what I have wanted. The stock seat was just too broken down to be comfortable. It started to bunch up and get real uncomfortable.
