I bought a Harley Davidson cigarette lighter plug for my RK Classic...

I tried sticking in it a cigarette lighter from one of my cars, the lighter would not fit in it... the plug is slightly bigger. so i went back to the dealer and bought the HD Cigarette lighter filament... same thing! doesnt fit!

anyone knows why?!?

 

It's not a lighter port, it's a power port. Two different animals. At least the one I got was. Try Wal-Mart.

the guys at the dealer said it would take the lighter as it says on the package "cigarette lighter"!!!

 

What part is too big the socket or the filament. I bought a filament for my used bike and the socket would not hold it in the energize position and was loose in the hold position. This was because the old owner used it to plug an adapter into for his cel phone. I have the same problem in my Mini Cooper when my wife plugs her cel phone in it. My Chevy truck does not do it. I took a hooked tool and pried the tabs in the socket toward the center a little bit and now it works great. If the filament is too big take it back they may have packaged it wrong in China. You should probably take them both with you they were both packaged in China.
