Congratulations!
Said the same thing myself and moved to an Ultra about a month and a half ago... For pretty much the same reason; comfort for my wife and myself on some longer rides. Only trouble I have found is now I can't seem to get out on my own... Just kidding. She's been on the rear for over 30 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way.
You're going to fall in love with the new ride!

First...welcome to the Bagger Side. Still cool & a lot more comfy.
That's the EXACT mindset that pulled me away from the NightTrain that I'd been wanting for 10 years before I finally got it, and into a SG.
Of course, it's like a NT/Dark Custom version of a SG, so I got the best of both worlds.
Thing for me is, I'm kind of wanting to get a Sporty now (not trading, but a second bike) for those short run-about rides & days out on the twisties with the sport-bike people I know.
Well, congrats...you won't regret it. Especially with a good seat and Cruise for the real long rides.
A lot of people complain about the stock SG seat but I don't find it bad at all. Of course, I never rode more than a couple hours on it.
I absolutely love my Mustang Vintage seat. 10+ hours on that was more comfortable than 1 1/2 on my NT's Badlander seat.
I loved my Sporty but I found myself not looking forward to riding any type of long distance. After a day of riding I would be completely worn out.
So I test rode a Streetglide and immediately loved it. I was really impresesed with the handling and how comfortable it was.

I about to do something I swore I would never do. I'm trading in my Sporty on a new 2011 Streetglide. I just couldn't say no after riding it and falling completely in love. What an amazing bike. Incredible ride and great handling.

Made the deal today and they are holding it for me.
White Hot Denim with cruise control, ABS, and security system.
I'll post picks when I pick it up Friday or Saturday.
I'm looking forward to learning allot about baggers and the Streetglide in general.
Now I can't wait to do my first long ride.

At first I really regretted having to give up my NT....didn't want to give up the cool Chopper style. But wanted the long-distance comfort even more, so I did.
But with the blacked-out bike I got, and then adding the exhaust and bars, I came to realize that my SG was just as "hot rod chopper cool", so now I agree that having both would be redundant.
But a little Sporty? yea, that'd be a cool compliment. (or maybe a Ducati Monster or Triumph Street Triple...but the wife says I look better on a Nightster)

SG is better if you're mostly a solo rider. Keep it trimmed down & sleek for the mostly short-distance riding we actually do.....and just get a tour-pak on a removable rack, removable lower fairings and maybe a taller windshield for those occasional long-distance trips.
