Reaearched for months and tried on all the so called lightest, and best half helmets. Bought the outlaw carbon fiber from leather-up and just used it on a 3k mile trip......... Awesome is all I can say.

Check the softail forum, they have a very lengthy discussion on this very subject.

The outlaw is very light and as small as you can get for a DOT helmet.

I have a Scorpion EXO 100 with flip down face shield that I really like and a Scorpion EXO 200 3/4 that I like when it is cold out. Not sure of the weight, but they work for me

I have neck issues so the lighter the better. I ended up with a Scorpion EXO-100 which is well made providing good protection for a DOT half and relatively light. Plus it has a retractable visor and with the visor down I look like a power ranger but not a "dorky" power ranger. Then again "dorky" may be a state of mind.

I have an Outlaw polo style that I bought from Leather up. I have had many helmets and price wise and look this is the only one i have been able to live with. That being said my buddy has a Vega helmet and it seems like a good helmet as well. Check out Leather up.com great prices and I have always had good service.

I recently bought a Z1R half helmet. It actually fits pretty low on your head, is light and comfortable. For a $60 helmet it is very nice and plenty of cool designs...
