2011 limited boom amp problem
#21
Carl Thanks for the info but I had the instructions already. The problem is that there is no reference to the Limited model. But in working around that where I had an issue was with the following comment on page 5 top right "FLHTCU Touring and FLHTCUTG Tri Glide models: Separate the audio harness pin housing [6A] from the interconnect harness socket housing [6B]." ???? dont know what this means in english especially with no pictures. So once again off to the dealer for the software upgrade and they can figure it out unless some with some experience can chime in.
Yes, I knew you had the instructions--how else could you provide the J number? Including the link to the pdf version in my post was to provide the information to others who may be interested in the kit and its instructions.
It's unusual for amp installations to use the negative battery terminal for the amp ground which this amp does--that's not your problem, just an observation.
Double-check to see there is a fuse in the fuse holder on the positive cable connected to the battery, and that it's good; check the socket terminals you installed in the 6B connector--often they will seem to be fully inserted but aren't, or they slip back away from the front of the connector because they aren't locked in the connector and fail to make contact with the mating pins in the 6A connector; and, double check that the wires inserted in the 6B connected are in the correct chambers--the numbers embossed on the connector identifying the chambers are tiny.

Pingman.............thanks for trying to help...............could not find the instructions. Double checked the wiring, checked the fuse, checked the wires in 6 a/b connector. Tried changing ground location. Appreciated your offer to help...............I guess some other people didn't see it that way.

Pingman I went over the every connection behind the fairing and it was the 2 pins. They weren't in all the way. Took the 6A and 6B terminals apart and pushed them through. Amp is working and so is the fade. Thanks for the help. Pingman is really cool and more than welling to offer help to any member, any time.
