Aftermarket Road King smaller detachable windshield?
Anybody have any links or have any that they like?
It's gotta:
- Work on a Road King (obviously)
- Be a lot shorter than stock (made for Frankenstein)
- Be easily/quickly detachable without leaving mounting hardware that looks like crap. I only use the windshield for longer trips, but I hate looking through the windshield.
Thanks!

Shorty on a Road King
I run a 2007 RKC, and switched from stock to a 12" smoked Memphis Shade. Think I paid about $90 for it and mounted it on my stock windshield frame. It lined up perfectly. Due to circumstances not related to the w/s manufacturer, it was later replaced with the HD 12" shorty. Can't remember the replacement cost as have tried to block the entire event from my memory. I am 6'2", long torso, sit low and back in a custom Corbin and the shorty gives me the breeze from shoulders up. I only use it in cold weather.

Are you specifically looking for an aftermarket (non-Harley) windshield? Or do you simply want a different one than you currently have? You may not be aware that Harley offers replacement Road King windshields and deflectors, in a variety of heights, such as: 22", 20", 18", 16", 14", and 11". (I think that 18" is the stock height.)
Have a look here (H-D deflectors) or here (H-D windshields).
I'm thinking about getting the 14" dark-smoke model myself, but haven't ordered it yet. That would be: H-D Part #57357-07 (with bracket) or #58799-02 (without bracket).
Anyway, good luck in your search!

I just installed the 19" Longrides with re-curve......it sits about 2 inches lower than the stock HD windshield. Longrides has different height shields at good prices. They measure from the top of the headlight. Get a tape measure and rest it on your headlight against the stock windshield to see where you would want the new one to be.
I really enjoy that new shield and was impressed with fit'n finish, and customer service....Can take pics if you want?

http://www.longrideshields.com/road_king_page.html I( have the 19" and can see fine over the top of it. Works great and uses your hardware that you already have.
