Battery Tender makes the tenders sold by the dealers in HD packaging. The big wig from Battery Tender said this on Corbin's Ride On a couple of weeks ago. Save money and get a Battery Tender Jr. Does the job and I bought 2 for $22 each (on sale) from Cycle Gear.

As far as warranty - how is the dealer gonna not pay warranty cause of a tender? and they will never know since all they will see is a pigtail attached to the battery... the same pigtail that the Battery Tender Jr with the HD sticker comes with. You carry your tender with you when getting service?

Anybody know of a good battery tender? I have heard the best chargers are the slowest ones. I know Harley has some battery tenders but I am not big on Harley aftermarket parts so does anyone have any other tenders that are good?
I'm cheap. I found one at Sears that was marketed for 12 V garden tractors and paid about $20 for it. Works great.

Wal-Mart, less then $20.00 and comes with everything. The pig tails, and the battery clamps to if you want to use them. Same thing that the HD Stealer sells.

What HD Renegade Said. Paid less that $15 dollars for the Schumacher charger. I was able to by 2 additional sets of pig tails, Put 1 on my seadoo, and one on my Garden Tractor. Move it arround between the bike, Seadoo and tractor and keeps everything all charged up.

One of the best investmenta I ever made.

Good luck,

Dellran's jr is all you'll need for normal circumstances. Their plus is a bigger unit and has indicator lights that let you know if the battery is shot, when it's at 80% charge, etc. The nice thing about the jr is the transformer is intergrated with the wall plug. I've had the big ones fall and either scratch something or pull the alligators off the posts.

Switch on ignition, push starter button, go for a ride.
Best battery tender I have ever used.

I use Yuasa and Battery Tender. Both are excellent. I think Chapparal has the Yuasa on sale at the moment.

Why do you guys need a battery tender?? Just ride the bike every day and it'll be fine!! OH .. I forgot, a lot of you live in SNOW country .. it's hard to think about not riding year around when you live in So. Cal. Today it's 86 degrees. I think I'll go buy one just to be "in sympathy" with my fellow HDForums.com users. Just kidding folks .. have a great winter and get lots of work done on you scoots and take lots of pics to post in the spring.
