I just put on some color matched lowers from Zanotti on my 2011 RK. Can't tell the difference from the wind hitting my bod at all, but the lower leg, (my pants), don't flap any more. There is increased whistling I can now detect too. If I were you I'd go take a look at a bike or two with those tin wind deflectors bolted to the fork tubes. I think they are pretty darn ugly but if they work go for it.

That's a tough one, one is really ugly and the other is just ugly. I'll take the wind over those things any day. I have a LRS and non adjustable HD Black Fairing Air Deflector. I also wear a 3/4 Fulmer helmet and Its just right for me. Still get the wind i need to cool off but not all the annoying wind.

I have an 8" clearview and it works well. When I have to put in some serious miles more than 500/day I switch to a 10". The recurve works well for me. I have the fairing deflectors and a fork baffle. I do think the fork deflectors look like crap jmho but I have heard they work well and make sense on a long ride on the open interstate. I might get them and try them on a trip to big bend this fall. Are they easy enough to take off when you get where you are going? I also like jjnoble's poly carbonate deflectors. I'm not sure if I could make them but they look easy enough to take on or off. A helmet makes a huge difference. I can ride all day without a helmet but my half helmet wears me out after about 500 miles on windy days. It doesn't really get bobbled around its more just the wind noise around the helmet. I have a full face but don't really like it except in cold weather. Earplugs also help reduce wind fatigue.
