exactly, don't pour out money for something with the H-D logo.
for touring- I don't cover---- I tent camp and space is at a minimum.
sometimes I'll take my cover if i am going to be parking at a hotel, where I can't see my bike. for the most part, my cover is used as a dust cover in the garage when storing for long periods

I took a tour around the parking lot this summer when the Iron Butt Association had its annual meeting in Denver, to see what the real long distance guys were using. I figured this crowd would be interested in durability, lightweight, quick on/off, and effective at hiding all of the goodies mounted to the typical dash.
I went with these guys: http://eztouring.com/traveller.htm
When I called to order, I got to talking to them about a 2-color cover, and they custom made one for me to match the blue over black Ultra Limited I have.
Great service, great price, and not bad on the wallet, either.

I ride my bike everyday and I just wanted something to protect the dash from fading (that already started to happen) and keep the desert heat off of the seat while it was parked at work. I wasnt concerned about hiding the bike but something functional for my needs. I ended up buying a cover from http://www.skn-it.com/ and have not had any problems with it yet.
