Dew Me I just looked up the part number as well and you are right sounds like it won't fit. As far as air goes though I don't see much of a problem. Air breathers on cars and trucks are stashed behind all kinds of things in an engine compartment.

Airflow won't be enough of a problem to worry about. Remember, the engine is sucking air in, not waiting for air to be forced in.

My recommendation would be to get the speaker boxes mounted up and measure how much room you have. Then go to the K&N website and search by dimension. They have tons.

Engines create a vacuum which is how they draw the air in. Think about the vacuum advance on a four barrel carb, same concept. Ram Air, like a Heavy Breather facilitates this by actually ramming air into the intake which helps atomize the gas as well as provide a tiny bit more oxygen. Everything that I have read and seen about the conical filters says they perform better than flat filters because of the sheer volume of surface area they can suck air through. Basically, that filter set-up can draw air 360* around the filter for however long it is. That coupled with the larger volume inlet tube (snorkle) provides the engine with more oxygen for the combustion process.

2manytoys, I would be interested in talking about buying it if it doesn't work out for you. Let me know if you want to seel it.

Just my thought but if it dont fit because of size then it dont fit full stop, if you are worried about blocking the intake because of the lowers I wouldnt worry,,,,the time to be worried would be if the planet ran out of oxygen as that about the only time the filter will stop taking all the air it needs.....
may not help but as I said, just my thought.
cheers
