Yes...I have to keep the cage plugged in so THAT battery doesn't go dead!

I've never used a BT on the Sporty, keep inside a headed garage, Looking for a road king and believe it would be good at least over the winter. Do you use the HD one or a aftermarket version?

OK, thanks guys. Your input has been much appreciated.

I actually have two battery tenders: the orginal Battery Tender and a Yuasa.

I'm definitely going to pull the battery and place it on the tender over the Winter months.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do during the riding season. I'll have to give it some thought. Presently, the SG resides under our open carport, which is attached to the house and buitl on a poured concrete slab. There is no direct point of entry into the house from the carport. The only outdoor electrical socket is at the front entry door to the house, about 30 feet away. I don't like the idea of having my orange extension cord draped across the front steps and running across the front of the house and under the carport.

Perhaps I can install another outdoor socket under the carport?

Whenever it is in the garage I plug it in. It only takes a few seconds and besides when I am dinging around in my man cave I am listening to the radio.

I used to store the battery inside over the winter - hell I used to store the whole bike inside too.

I use Deltran - they make the Harley tenders and can be had for less. My personal favorite is the 2 bank:Battery Tender 022-0165-DL-WH 12-Volt 2-Bank Battery Management System

Amazon has them for about $80.

I use a Deltran Jr on my bike all the time, just ordered another one for the Triumph Bonneville I just bought. I also have a unit mounted in the inside of the engine bay on my 88 Corvette and keep it plugged in any time I'm not driving it since it often sits for weeks some times months with out being driven. Lately I've been driving the Corvette and want to install one on my Cadillac
