That's one thing I do miss about my EGC, Batwings are a lot easier to work on than the Sharknose, IMHO. It probably is a brace, easy DIY fix.

Yep, sounds like the turbulence from the truck was the straw that broke the bracket's back so to speak. Sounds like an easy fix...

You guys were correct!!! Right bracket that connects to speaker was broke! Cant talk the wife into going back to the dealership to open it up and look for the bracket so I guess I have to take the sportster to work tomorrow!

Won't hurt a thing to ride like it is until you can get a replacement.
You may want to replace both while you're in there.
The new ones are redesigned.

Default Fairing Bracket Repair

Go get a L strap at a hardware store and install as shown. Very easy fix.

Did I just brake my Batwing?
"Brake"? Was there a sudden stopping motion involved?

Mine is the other one. The horizontal brace that goes from the vertical to the speaker.....The one on the left side is a little heavier and built a little better so I'm guessing it was changed sometime before I owned the bike
