I think Easy Off oven cleaner works the best. Run your bike a few minutes and let the pipes get warm. Spray the oven cleaner on a rag (never directly on the pipes, creates a mess all over the place) and start wiping. I melted my Frogg Toggs and the Easy off took it off with no problems. I waited til the pipes were cool and then put some wax on.

Easy off on a rag. Use on cold pipes. Then if needed get a BRASS scouring scrub pad and this will get any off the stubborn stuff off. I just finished using this process about two hours ago.

Let's just say I'm a lazy S.O.B. when it comes to cleaning the bike, but I'm **** and like a shiney bike.

So I swear http://www.cajunshineall.com/ is easy and works on everything.

+1 on the gently......I used the finest steel wool i could find and moistened it with Mist and Shine on cold pipes and it took off the baked on rubber and absolutely no scratches. Having said that there are probably other ways that are just as good, I just used what I had on hand.

turtle wax .never dull and semi chrome polish did not work at removing the baked on crud.Itsa not even crud. Its what happens when the hot pipe and rain water meet. like said earlier the crud looks like the chrome blistered and is really rough and only at the 02 sensor, cat area on the pipe. The only other thing I tried was Simoniz chrome cleaner that worked with abit of effort. I don't feel it should be happening to the pipes to start with.

I use Road Rub. Takes a little elbow grease but does not scratch your chrome.

I let my bike run till the pipes get hot, use any chrome cleaner, and rub the pipes with a t shirt under a soft piece of wood so I dont burn my hands but can apply pressure. Never had anything not come off.

+1. Wiping gently with very fine steel wool and WD-40 got the baked on boot marks off my exhaust pipe without scratching the chrome. My dealer actually recommended it.

flashracer, If the chrome is blistered and bubbling up I would say that is a warranty issue. Bad chrome job.
