Im new to the Touring side and used to think no need for cruise on a motorcycle. Over the past month Ive learned to love it (just like ABS) I will never buy a bike without it if its available as an option in the future.

Have it, never use it. Do turn it on once in a while to see if it works. Doubt if I would do any thing if it didn't work.

Are you talking about cruise control or a throttle lock? Cruise control will keep constant speed unless you start going up something steep enough that would require a downshift, my daughter lives in Minnesota and driving all over the state I can't remember anyplace that has that steep of grade. I ride my 09 RK through the low mountains around Vegas and it's never lost more than 2 mph on the steepest grades around here at 65-70 in 6th.

To the OP. ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY it's worth it. Have it for the first time and can't imagine being without it now.

Have it, love it, use it. Saved me at least one ticket.

What they said. After having it, I'll never have a bike without it now.

I was looking forward to having cruise control, but I don't use it much. I don't like anyone but me controlling the throttle into and out of turns. Most of my riding involves curves. If I'm on a long straightaway I'll use it, but I have to let go of the throttle every once in a while or my speed creeps up from going up and down hills. At least in my expeeience on an '03 you still need to keep an eye on the speedometer, so what's the point. Long interstate riding it's nice.
