Default Clutch / Damper Seat Spring

Since my clutch has around 60.000mls it feels pretty worn out (very short engagement). I will get a BDL Energy One Clutch.

As BDL says "remove all of the OEM friction and steel disks and dont reuse them." I wonder wether I can leave old the Damper Spring and the Damper Seat Spring in there or would it be better to get new ones?
A Buddy told me just to leave them in they wouldn't wear out. Is that right?

figure you've done the adjustments available for that clutch including spring adjust.

On my Hi-Po 88 FXRPolice, I used the Barnett Kevlar clutch kit with stock steels, basket etc. ( you do need to inspect and replace any warped or burnt steels)

It has really held up now for 80,000 miles and 20 years- and way low cost.

Just a suggestion if you haven't looked at them. Barnett been around a long time

Yes I did the clutch adjustment. But what you mean with adjust the spring - you dont mean the diaphragm spring and you don't mean the Damper Spring, right?

Yep, Barnetts are pretty good, but the BDL's will do, as my ride is pretty much stock.

Do you remember changing the Damper (Seat) Spring?

Adjustment- I meant the diaphragm spring, which was adjustable on the earlier ( 88) design- sorry!-

looking at the parts diagram, I would suggest changing the damper spring and seat- it's spring metal so could wear over time and loose it's flexion.

I think the barnett kit cost me about $60 back then, the kevlar kit for your bike is about $120 in the US...so likely more in DE. part number is 302-30-10013(K)
