Default voltmeter jumping around

I took my bike out for a ride around town yesterday evening and I noticed that when I stopped with the clutch pulled in the volts dropped to around 12 and would swing from 12 to around 15. When moving the volts were dead on at a tad over 14, it didn't happen every time I stopped but I had never noticed it before, what could be causing this? Thanks for any info.

Default swing

Did you have your brake on at the time? You may want to look for a loose ground or loose connection to your lights. Were they functioning correctly?

Are your battery connections tight and clean?

Had the same thing awhile back. Found a loose connection on the battery.

my bike stays steady 14 v whether depressed front or back or both. Check connections like above poster. Get a shop manual and multimeter and check stator. Also can be hard to diagnose intermittents.
