Default Arlen Ness "Big Sucker" Stage 1 Air Cleaner?

Are any of you running an Arlen Ness "Big Sucker" Air Cleaner? I'm interested in hearing about quality, performance and installation.

Also, how does it compare to the SE Stage 1 Air Cleaner?

Thank you.

I have one and the only difference I can tell from the HD variety is the cost, with the HD being more expensive. Install is a snap and the quality is very good.

I have been running one for a couple of years. I would say is the same as SE except for Big Sucker is a lot cheaper. As you would with any filter, keep clean and oiled and it will last a long time.

Have been running one since April, couldn't be happier. A lot less $$ than the SE.

Default Ness vs SE

I've run one on two bikes now, biggest diff is I've never had the oil dripping problem like the SE ones seem to have.

I'm running the fuel moto air cleaner kit. It has the harley backing plate but with an american made air filter. Arlen Ness's air cleaner comes from china.

I am way happy with the Ness- the install is easier and tidier than the S/E, for instance the bracket for the intake stays in place.

The filter media is washable and oiled like K&N but it is not made by K&N- so far quality of the media seems fine.

I used the chrome backing plate version which makes for easy wipe down on wash day ( anything with a rough surfaces holds the grime) and the chrome where the backing plate attaches to the heads is visibly nice.

I paid $115 shipped on ebay from easternpc.

performance? any of these air cleaners will provide much more air then your motor will use, the internal air horn, orders the air into the intake tract- no real advantage one or the other

Looking at the intake, on the left side you'll see all that ugly wiring and the plug, you pretty much need to re-use the "football" cover the hide that.

I dig mine. Easy install, low maintenance. With pipes and that, I needed a PCIII and a map though.
