Read this thread and others... Decided to call Howard and order Ohlins for my 2012 SE street glide. Installed easily and dealing with Howard was a positive experience. After several miles... you can see a definite difference in the ride and handling. This was money well spent!

Default Ohlins

Couldn't remeber Howard's site so Googled and linked to this thread. A funny read, if it were me, I don't want to deal with a salesman that just quotes from a sales book with no knowledge of what you are looking for, just looking the next sale. Howard has been a great help over the years in educating me in suspension and recommending what I need.

When Motorcycle Metal sets up your shocks, are they also changing the valves in them based on your weight? Are they doing other modifications on them besides changing the spring?

Wow. I haven't read every page, but come on. I am a newbie, not much of wrench yet and heard Howard was rough around the edges. Did my research and called. He was a little intimidating, but totally helpful. Love the ride of the 13Bs. Money well spent.

You should phone Howard and ask him that, as things change over time. When Howard first made us custom shocks he took Penske racing car shocks components and developed his own damper formula for us, skills which he later adapted to Ohlins. He uses telemetry and a local race track to assist his development work, which includes adapting fork cartridges as well. He is probably the most accomplished Harley suspension specialist on the Planet, as far as we road riders are concerned!

I listened to a phone call with this guy over speakerphone. Was amusing to say the least. Almost rude enough to put hands on him, but just nice enough to put up with it to get some good info, which he does indeed have.
