Default Seriously, how can oil cost this much

Stopped by Advance Auto today and noticed they are caring Royal Purple motorcycle oil. When I saw the price ($15+), I started giving some serious thought about the ridiculous price of motorcycle oil. I concede I know nothing of what is involved in manufacturing oils. But the difference between car oil and motorcycle oil just doesn't seem plausible. I guess I'm wondering if the extra money is really buying us a superior oil or have the oil companies decided motorcyclists are idiots or gullible.

Never seen it for that much before. Local stores have it for less than $10 a quart.

Been using Redline for the last couple years...get it from Summit Racing.

This is kinda off topic but let me rant...The arabs in the desert with the oil, need our US exports of water to survive. I say shut off their supply of water we give them. and maybe they'll lower our cost per barrel of oil. F%&cking gas over there is $.80 a gallon. Its all a conspiracy.
