Those two cams both produce great peak numbers. I can't say about the 204's (although I know they are good cams and have a large following), but the 555's will start pulling hard at about 2700 RPM's, and peak around 3700-3900 but will still pull hard all the way up to red-line.

I would have went with the triple nickels, but felt I would stay with HD to avoid any warranty challenges, but also I went with the 204's because I had very good performance results with my other bikes (dyno) and as it pertains to my riding style.

When talking over the decision with R.C. Cycles, I was told I would probably get a few mores horses with the 555's, but that both cams are good bolt in choices. I love the performance of the 204's and my bike runs great. It really moves out getting on the freeway, passing, etc.

Either cam would be a good choice imo.

Who knows? Without actually putting them on your bike and running back-to-back dyno tests, it's a whole lot of speculating. Both cams work well for the 103 bikes, that's been proven on a number of members bikes. I'd guess the 555 cams would pull bigger numbers overall, but the 204 cams should hit a little sooner. It's gonna depend on the quality of the tune as much as any differences in cam design.

On paper, the 204 with the earlier intake close and ground in advance will hit earlier but the 555 with higher lift and more duration will pull harder in the upper rpm ranges and should put up better HP numbers but maybe not better TQ numbers.

You can't really go wrong with either cam. I have not run the 555 but have run the 204s and really like them.

I am going with 204's as well............I put 255's in and hate em.....they are dead by 4000rpm....good thing they were free.

What about changing the rocker arms for a little more lift?? worth it? cams and rockers are still cheaper than goin to woods cams.....all though I would like to see the woods TW5-6 in a limited just to see the numbers....

There are some that are running the hi ratio rockers with Andrews 26s and 37s and the SE204s. You need to be careful with the 204s though, they have a high exhaust TDC lift. Ther is also the potential for valve spring coil bind with more lift depending on year and model. Not a bad idea, just need to do the homework before pulling the trigger.
