my upgrade path took me from an '06 Deuce, to an '07 CVO Springer and finally to my 2010 FLTRX Road Glide custom.... I LOVED the way HD fixed the 2010 Road Glide, because the '09 and previous Road Glide's were not appealing to me in any way! LOL!
I test rode both the 2010 Road Glide AND the 2010 Street Glide (and also put a few miles on a friends '09 Street Glide) and my opinion of the batwing is that it made me feel like the fairing was "in my face", I'm not that tall at 5'7" and it still felt too close to me (probably because I was coming off of an open bike with no fairing...) plus... batwing bikes are like toilets and Mustangs... everybody has one and I like to be different!
The Road Glide fairing gives me that open feeling but all of the protection that riding behind a fairing provides.. PLUS.. I love the sporty updated look of the Road Glide! I'm not into the "traditional" look of the batwing, it's too geezer looking for me, and screams OLD FART!.. sorry batwing guys..
