It's almost as bad here in Arkansas. The weatherman is going to need to come up with a new way to produce the "normal" high and low temperature numbers - maybe a 30 year moving average. Every month except January has been hotter than "normal". According to the weatherman today should have a normal high of 93 and low of 72.

I have to ride to work in San Antonio. Riding home @ 7pm, my keys will get so hot it's almost like holding my oil cooler. Recreational riding is almost non-existent, went for my first in about 2 months yesterday, but I was done by 12:30. The last hour was Hell.

I've been riding to work almost every day still, it's only about 10 miles each way. It's not bad when I leave the house in the morning, but the afternoon ride home does feel like a blast furnace. Bike seems to be running OK, but I'm sure it would run much better when it's cooler out.

I would suggest you ride more than 500 miles a month in the cooler months!

My wife still does not understand how it can be too hot to ride a motorcycle. But then again she is not the rider sitting over the twin jug oven.

Thumbs up on the cooling vest... available at Cycle Gear stores for $30. Soak it in cool water prior to riding. Effectively turns your torso into an evaportive cooler when you ride, and keeps your core cool. The only thing is they don't look very cool. I wear a thin nylon-mesh jacket over mine.

Took 380 out of Dallas across the top of Texas, lonely road and much hotter than Dallas. Rode the Majave yesterday on my way back from the left coast, it was cooler than Texas, will hit the Grand Canyon and Mesa today. Hot hot hot. But I am ridin, so hey, it aint all bad.

Riding the wifes Dyna on this trip, miss the music.
