2009 Street Glide Electrical Issue
Alright folks hope someone has seen this before
2009 SG turn on ignition voltage comes up, pump runs, hit the starter and it just clicks. AT this time voltage goes to 0 and the odometer is kind of flickering. There is a click around the fuse/relay panel that sounds like the bike is speaking to me in Morse code. click......click click click......clickety click.
Things checked,
cleaned, treated and tightened battery terminals.
checked voltage on battery
got about that far before I had to walk away. I'm not a fan of electrical troubleshooting. Who Is????????
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just had the same issue, battery was checked at 12.8, turned on ignition went to about 10 volts and dropped off. When I hit the starter it would make a loud click like it wasn't engaging. My forum buddies said it was the battery, took it out to autozone and they were right the battery showed bad. I am going to replace it this week and I hope that solves my issue. Hope this helps.

A bad battery can show 12 volts--- but the current available is only 1/100th of what it was.
You can take the battery out and put it on a charger overnight ( a real charger, not a tender) and load test it at autozone.
it's probably dead- even if it does take and hold a charge, a fully discharged battery looses about 50% on it's rated capacity.
and a dead battery can stress a charging system causing damage there.
batteries don't do well with heat and vibration, the 2 things we subject them to.
many riders are going to DEKA batteries with good result at 2/3 the cost of a dealership battery.
