Default best value for $1500 a newbie look

Hi

I'm a newbie looking to go cross country. I am 6'4 and 240 lbs. I want a decent touring bike that will fit me well for long distance trips.

Ideally I'd like to spend no more than 1500 for a used bike. but I can go as high as 2k.

any reccomendations?

Edit: Okay, my ghetto *** has been exposed lol.

guess i do need another 0 lol. 15000 -20000

You guys are saying glide? but what kind? exact models please. i want something that will accomodate my large frame nicely and be my depedable partner as i go across the nation

TREK makes some great touring bicycles in your price range.

Trust me - the chances of findin' a decent Wing at that price is 'bout the same as findin' a bull what don't like cows.

You can't even find a reliable automobile (in my area at least) for $1500-2000.

You must have forgotten a 'zero'. More like $15-20K for a decent HD, Goldwing, BMW motorcycle that you'll be comfortable on. I'm 6' and 240, and my ElectraGlide is perfect. I've got a friend that's 5'11" and 300+ and he runs two-up all over the country on his 97 Ultra.

Even the rattiest oldest 'Wing I've seen advertised is over $3K.

I honestly think he left a zero off and is looking for a bike in the $15000 to $20,000 range.

A good mountain bike is more than $1500.
