I found mine on ebay for less than 1/2 off, this is by Joker Machine they have lots of different styles. I like the quality as they are chromed billet aluminum.
I've used different found items. I had a great copper lid from a small saucepan that was a perfect fit, and looked great on a black bike. The ball-milled cover I'm using now came from ebay, cost about 20 bucks, and was advertised as a billet cover for a VW air cleaner.

That thing just happened to fit the 5-1/2" filter, eh? slick!
For cutting up the stock cover and making it perfectly round, cut it out as round as possible then tighten it down on a bolt so it wont move at all then chuck that bolt into a cordless drill and run it on a belt sander. dont put too much pressureon it and the high spots will get ground down until its good. never did it with an air cleaner cover but have made plenty of perfectly round parts for show vehicles this way. then if you want a different looking finish on it keep the drill running and sand down the face of it, you will get the brushed marks to be swirled then just clear coat over that

I sanded/scuffed a spare football cover snd painted it with black wrinkle paint. Dried it in the oven. Then a quick coat of aerosol clear. But first removed the trim ring and painted it to match my accent color (off white on my black bike). Looks good.
