Default Baffle for d&d fat cat

For a stock 96" motor what's the best baffle to use. I am going to do a 103 engine soon. I have a night train with big radius and didn't think that was to loud. THanks for all replies

Wrapped perforated if it's a 2009 or later, Quiet if it's pre-2009.

I'm running the unwrapped perforated on my 2010 and love it. Haven't had anyone listen to em that didn't comment on how good they sound

Even with the wrapped perforated baffle in my Fatcat, it was loud. With the J&M amp and speakers I could hear the stereo at speed if it was turned all the way up.

Fatcats are great pipes, but they're LOUD.

I don't think they are as loud as many other pipes out there (Thunderheader, V&H Pro Pipe, etc). I had the quiet baffle (wrapped) and traded it out for a standard one. I like the standard one much more. I couldn't hear the quiet one on the highway at all. The standard is just right for me.

If I might ask, how did you get the stock baffle out?? I heard its crazy hard....is this true, any techniques you can let me know about?

Lol. I called up Drew at Dr V-Twin and had him send me a whole new muffler. Like you, I had heard all the stories about not being able to get the baffles out and figured I'd tear mine up trying. Oh well, at least I can swap them out if I'm going somewhere that I know police are cracking down on noise.

Squirt it down with some PB Blaster, get yourself a scrap piece of 2x6, then beat the **** out of it with the muffler. It'll slide out eventually. Unless it doesn't, in which case you can use a couple of bevelled 2x2s, stick them inside the baffle, and drive it out by beating them on the ground. Of course, then you have to set the thing on fire to get the wedged 2x2s out.....
