We have been to Sturgis several times, never during bike week. We ride snowmobiles out there in the winter and the bike in the summer. I want to do bike week, just to say i did it and can be one of those people. Our last trip from Phoenix to Fargo, ND intoduced us to many fantastic sites, but the hills is one of the best riding spots. IMHO, everyone should ride the hills once. The sound of the breeze blowing through the pine trees is incredible.

Be careful. Long distance riding on an HD is addictive.

Me and my wife rode from DFW area in '06. Had a blast - stayed at a B&B. Got the t-shirt, pin and sunburn!! Plan on going back, but not during "Sturgis" week!!

This trip is On my list of momo to-do's! This year we are doing the tail of the dragon. I like the idea of going early to beat the rush, for our first time I think this the way to go. Our 2nd or maybe 3rd time would just like to experience "Sturgis" the rally in full swing.

Make sure you check out Van Knocker Canyon from Rapid to Sturgis too. It's easy to take the interstate but that road is a blast. Iron Mountain, Needles and Van Knocker are all amazing.

Forgot to add Spearfish Canyon.

Just back from Hill City. Had a great time and met a lot of great people. Spent a couple hours in Sturgis and the rest of the time cruising the Hills.
